Juniors to attend national championship in NSW

CFA has once again been invited to participate in the Australian National Fire Cadet Championships (ANFCC) held at Myuna Bay near Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, during the September school holidays.

CFA has competed at the ANFCCs since their inception in 2007. This biennial event is open to junior/cadet members of emergency services from across Australia. The Championships provide our CFA participants with an excellent opportunity to build nation-wide networks, learn from interstate peers and participate in a program than enhances the engagement and recognition of junior members.

CFA will be taking three teams consisting of six junior members from across the state. The selected participants will fly to Sydney on Saturday 26th September, and spend two days together as a group, undertaking team building and sightseeing activities. The teams will then travel to Myuna Bay for the Championships which will run from Monday 28th September to Thursday 1st October 2015. The team will spend one more night in Sydney, before flying back to Melbourne on Friday 2nd October. In addition to the 18 junior members, the CFA teams will consist of four junior leaders and CFA staff.

CFA will cover travel costs including flights, activities, accommodation and meals whilst in New South Wales. The costs incurred by participants includes arranging their own travel to and from Melbourne Airport, spending money whilst away, and purchase of four pairs of woollen socks by the junior members.

We are currently seeking applications from eligible junior members (to be eligible you must be between the ages of 14 and 15) and junior leaders. Applications close Friday 7th August 2015.

Further information, as well as the application forms, can be found at on CFA's public site.
