Keysborough factory fire

Firefighters were able to quickly control a fire at a factory in Keysborough this afternoon.

CFA was called to the Pacific Drive factory at 3.30pm.

The fire was in the external extraction system and was extinguished within 10 minutes, preventing further damage to the concrete manufacturing business.

District 8 Operations Officer Sean Kerr said as a precaution, more than 100 people were evacuated from the building.

“The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated,” he said.

Six CFA trucks from Keysborough, Dandenong, Noble Park and Springvale attended the incident.
