Koori Inclusion Action Plan launch

CFA will officially launch its first Koori Inclusion Action Plan during National Reconciliation Week 2015.

The launch will take place on Thursday 28 May at 10.30am at CFA HQ and will be broadcast using live video streaming across the state to all 21 CFA districts.

The launch will highlight the importance of Aboriginal inclusion and engagement in CFA and the shared culture of fire.

Koori Inclusion Action Plan launch details:

-        Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Elder

-        Presentation by Chief Officer Euan Ferguson

-        Film premiere 'The Culture of Fire'  (28 minutes)

The Culture of Fire is a film produced by CFA in association with CFA Koori members across the state. This film looks at the culture of fire from a CFA and Indigenous perspective and how we can work together to manage the land and care for country. The film also features interviews with CFA Koori members and Chief Officer Euan Ferguson.

The CFA Koori Inclusion Action Plan signals the start of a new journey that CFA and the Aboriginal community are starting together. Through this work, CFA’s structures, behaviours, culture and values will increasingly reflect our respect for the Koori community, the traditional owners of the land upon which we live and work as Victorians.
