Langwarrin grassfire brought under control

Firefighters have brought a grassfire at Langwarrin under control.

 

CFA was notified at 12.45 on Wednesday 19 January to reports of a grass fire spreading near Lyppards Rd, Langwarrin.

The response was quickly escalated and a Watch and Act message was issued to the community, which has since been downgraded to an Advice message.

More than 20 CFA vehicles were on scene, with air support also assisting.

Approximately five hectares of grass was burnt, and the fire impacted some non-residential assets including sheds and vehicles.

The scene was declared under control at 14.22, with VicPol assisting with traffic control.
