How can emergency service agencies measure the effect of policies and prepare for natural disasters beyond our current experience?
Hazard Note 9 is an overview of the Scenario and loss analysis cluster of Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC research projects. The cluster has two linked studies:
- An analysis of building losses and human fatalities from natural disasters
- Using realistic disaster scenario analysis to understand natural hazard impacts and emergency management requirements.
This Hazard Note details the aim of each project, the work completed to date and the outcomes so far. Researchers from both projects are presenting this research at next week's Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC & AFAC annual conference in Adelaide.
