Little River grassfire burns 10 hectares

For the second time in 2 days. CFA crews have battled a grassfire at Little River.

12 tankers were called to the grassfire which is believed to have been started accidently around 12:30pm.

The fire burnt easterly close to a property on Turner Road and took around 2 hours to bring under control.

Operations Officer Wayne Aylmer said while the two fires were unrelated, they are an early indication of a busy fire season ahead.

OO Aylmer praised brigades from Anakie, Balliang, Little River, Corio, Bannockburn, Lara, Lovely Banks, Point Cook and Wyndham Vale for their efforts tackling the fire.
