The leak at the Shell Refinery has been stopped. CFA units will be leaving the scene shortly.
CFA is at the scene of a major leak at the Shell Refinery in Corio.
Firefighters were called to the Refinery Road plant about 5am this morning, when there was a report of a flammable product leaking from a unit within the refinery.
Hazmat detection crews are on scene monitoring the area, but there is no risk to nearby residents.
District 7 RDO Mick McGuiness said the leak had been contained, but not stopped.
Crews are expected to be on scene for a number of hours working to isolate the leak.
There are eight appliances on scene from Corio, Geelong, Belmont, Geelong West, Lara and Dandenong.
