Man rescued from metal bin

CFA crews have rescued a man trapped in a large skip at a Leather Street metal recycling business in Breakwater, near Geelong this morning (10 May).

CFA District 7 Operations Officer Brendan Lawson said the rescue took just under half an hour from when crews arrived at the scene at 8.25am.

“CFA were on scene very quickly and manually removed the metal trapping the man.

“The man was under a significant amount of recycled, varying types of metal.”

It’s believed the man was not a worker.

Four CFA trucks from Geelong City attended as well as SES, police and ambulance.
