Message from Lucinda Nolan

To all Country Fire Authority members,

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and let you know how excited I am to join such a wonderful, respected and dedicated organisation.

I will commence the role of Chief Executive Officer on Monday, 9 November, and I’m really looking forward to it.

During my 32 years of service with Victoria Police, I have had the opportunity to work closely with CFA fire fighters and staff on numerous occasions, including during emergencies. In my current position as Deputy Commissioner Regional Operations I am responsible – amongst other things – for State Emergencies and Security Command and have therefore had the opportunity to meet many of you already.

I have always been impressed with the professionalism and commitment shown by your staff and volunteers, particularly your frontline who do such a fantastic job keeping their local communities safe.

My first priority is to get out and speak to as many of you as possible so I fully understand the issues, challenges and risks faced by the CFA and its people.  My focus has always been on strong and unequivocal support to the frontline. This will not change or waver now.

I would also like to thank the many people from the CFA who have already contacted me.  The CFA is a large family, but a warm and welcoming one…I am proud to become part of such an organisation.

Kind regards,

Lucinda
