Midura Storm creates havoc

Mildura and surrounding areas were hit by a series of severe storms early on Saturday morning.

More than 460 calls for help were received and over 7000 residents were without power. SES and CFA crews have worked throughout the weekend to clear debris and assist with the cleanup.

The majority of calls have been for building damage with many residents suffering from water damage to properties. Many roads were flooded and utility companies have been working non-stop to help restore services.

SES and CFA strike teams have driven and flown in to help exhausted crews who have worked since the storm hit.

A Relief Centre has been set up in the Alfred Deakin Centre in Mildura.
