Fire brigades have been holding local and district competitions for more than 140 years. The Rural Championships have been held continuously since the early 1950s. This year is no different with approximately 200 brigades competing in the Urban and Rural State Championships.
The events are based on practical firefighting activities. They build fitness, team skills and capabilities with hoses, hydrants and other equipment that make them a useful addition to each brigade’s regular training regimen.

- Urban Senior State Championships: Weeroona Oval, Napier Street (Midland Highway), North Bendigo on 7 – 9
