Mt Buffalo high angle rescue

CFA firefighters participated in a multi-agency high angle rescue at Mount Buffalo at 3.58pm on Thursday, 2 February.

 

CFA crews from Bright, Porepunkah, Harrietville, Mt Beauty and Wangaratta worked alongside Fire Rescue Victoria, Parks Victoria, Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police and SES to rescue a patient.

The patient was on the Chalwell Gallery walk when she slipped 75 metres down and was located between rocks.

Due to the difficult terrain and injury to the patient, she had to be airlited to Porepunkah air strip by HEMS.

The patient is now recovering well from a minor injury.
