After the success of the first multi-agency pumping exercise held in late January, a second exercise was held in March at Westerfolds park in Templestowe.
The exercise leveraged the lessons learned from the first exercise and looked to further develop the relationship between the MFB and CFA in the outer suburban fringe.
The three outcomes were to run a multi-agency exercise, to deliver 4000l/min flow through the relay and to examine the impact of different host configurations on flow rates and pressures.
The exercise was attended by South Warrandyte pumper, Warrandyte pumper, Eltham pumper, Plenty pumper tanker, Scoresby hoselayer, MFB pumper tanker 16, MFB pumper tanker 30 and MFB water tanker 30.
The exercise again achieved the goals set, and provided an excellent opportunity for both CFA and MFB to work collaboratively in training on the urban fringe, as they do so often on the fireground.
A short video showing some of the action from the day has been produced. You can view it online at: https://youtu.be/3MZizI8LyL0
