The competition is open to all CFA volunteers to capture ‘teamwork’ and CFA values such as safety, respect, together, integrity and adaptive.

This year we have two categories and brigades can win $1,000 for the purchase of non-operational equipment to benefit the brigade.

The competition closes this Wednesday 16 May at 5pm, so hurry and start snapping.

The following terms and conditions apply to each person participating in CFA’s ‘National Volunteer Week photo competition’

1.      The promoter of this Competition is the Country Fire Authority (CFA) (ABN: 39 255 319 010), 8 Lakeside Drive, Burwood East, Victoria, 3151, Australia.

2.      Entry to the Competition is open to all CFA volunteers. CFA employees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter UNLESS that CFA employee is also a current CFA volunteer.

3.      Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter.

4.      Each entry must be entered in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. By entering the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

5.      Entry into the Competition is free. Up to two (2) entries per volunteer can be submitted.

The competition will include two categories: 

Amateur Category

·        Photo entries submitted by a CFA volunteer on behalf of their brigade

       Professional Category

·        Photo entries submitted by a CFA volunteer on behalf of their brigade that has been taken by a professional photographer.

6.      The Competition commences at 3pm Monday 30 April 2018 and closes at 5pm on Wednesday 16 May 2018 ("Competition Period"). Any entry received after the expiry of the Competition Period will be deemed invalid.

To enter the Competition, send an electronic copy of your photograph (in a high resolution jpeg format) featuring volunteers from your brigade in a scene that embodies ‘teamwork’ and our CFA Values (Safety, Respect, Together, Integrity, Adaptive)

to: cfaevents@cfa.vic.gov.au 

(Maximum image size 10MB and if entering twice images must be sent separately) 

Entries that don’t meet these requirements will be non-eligible.

7.      The entrant (in each Category) whose Photo is judged by CFA’s panel of judges to be the most creative and which best embodies the Competition’s theme (CFA Values and teamwork) will win the prize ("Prize Winner").

8.      Chance plays no part in determining the Prize Winner.

9.      The prize is as follows:

a.      The Prize Winner will receive a $250 Bunnings voucher.

b.      The Prize Winner’s brigade will receive a framed copy of the winning photo and an additional prize up to the value of $1,000 for the purchase of non-operational equipment for the benefit of the brigade.

CFA will purchase the nominated equipment on behalf of the brigade. No cash will be given to the brigade and there will be no reimbursement for equipment or goods already purchased by the brigade.

10.   The winning photos in both categories will be used as the cover photograph on CFA’s Facebook page from May 21 to June 21 2018 and shared across CFA social media during May 2018.

11.   By entering this competition, you warrant that:

(i)               all details provided with your entry are true and accurate;

(ii)              you have all necessary rights and licenses to grant the rights set out in these Terms and Conditions;

(iii)            you have the consent of all pictured individuals to submit their image to this Competition;

(iv)            the Photo is an original work;

(v)             you are the copyright owner or authorised licensor of all copyright works and subject matter comprising the Photo;

(vi)            the exercise of the rights granted to CFA in these Terms and Conditions will not infringe the rights of any third parties; and you will indemnify CFA against any loss or damage resulting from any breach of these warranties.

12.    All entrants grant CFA a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, transferable, fee-free and royalty-free license to use, modify, exploit, reproduce, adapt or commercialise the Photo.

13.   Decisions of CFA and the panel of judges are final and will be binding on each entrant and no correspondence will be entered into. The name of the Prize Winner will be announced and posted on CFA’s Facebook on Monday 21 May 2018. Please allow at least 28 days from the date of notification for the delivery of the Prize.

14.   CFA reserves the right to disqualify any entrant where CFA reasonably suspects unlawful or improper conduct, inappropriate procedures or a breach of these Terms and Conditions.

15.   CFA accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize.

16.   No component of the prize can be transferred or redeemed for cash. In the event that the prize becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond CFA’s control, CFA reserves the right to provide a similar product to the same value as the prize.

17.   If there is any event that prevents or hinders CFA’s conduct of the Competition or CFA’s ability to deliver the prize to the Prize Winner, CFA may, in its absolute discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it at another time under the same conditions.

18.   To the full extent permitted by the law, CFA will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or inconsequential) to persons or property as a result of any person entering into the Competition or accepting or using any prize, including without limitation non-receipt of the prize or damage to any prize in transit.

19.   The collection, use and disclosure of personal information provided in connection with this Competition is governed by the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and CFA’s Information Privacy Policy.
