Nagambie CFA brigade members have celebrated the official opening of their brand-new fire station.

The new station features three motor-room bays, a large brigade meeting room and separate turn-out rooms and change facilities for men and women.

The new $1.59M building replaces the former station located on Vine Street, which was over 60 years old.

Brigade members were joined by CFA Chief Officer Jason Heffernan who officially opened the new building.

Nagambie Captain Allen Treble said the new facility will help the brigade better serve and protect the community.

“It’s exciting to have a new fit-for-purpose facility to help serve the rapidly expanding Nagambie community,” he said.

“Not only will the brigade have better meeting and member facilities, the new station will also incorporate the Headquarters of the Tabilk Group, which encompasses five brigades including Nagambie.

“It provides an improved training area that can be used by our own brigade as well as visiting brigades from the area.

“Some of the funding has come from community donations and we’d like to thank everyone who has supported this project.”

CFA Chief Officer Jason Heffernan said that after multiple delays due to the COVID-19
pandemic, it was great to officially open the station.

“This new station will be an asset to the thriving Nagambie brigade, allowing our volunteers to continue doing what they do best – protecting lives and property.” he said.

“Nagambie brigade are experts in both urban and wildfire environments, and this new station
now matches the professionalism of its members.

“I would like to thank the brigade for their invaluable service to their local community and
beyond.”
