New Romsey Fire Station opens

Romsey Fire Brigade members past and present were joined by the Member for Macedon, Mary-Anne Thomas, Cr Ian Ellis (Macedon Ranges Shire Council), CFA Board Member Michael Tudball AFSM, Chief Officer Euan Ferguson AFSM and Ops Officer Andrew Waterson to officially open their new fire station on Friday 24 July 2015.

Romsey brigade hosted guests from within the Macedon Rangers catchment and the local community.  

The MC for the evening was Dr Paul Carter, a well-known local resident.   

The opening consisted of a three-course meal with the motor room being transformed into a formal dining room.  After the station was officially opened by the Member for Macedon, Chief Officer Ferguson and Operations Officer Waterson presented Romsey Brigade members with service awards, National Emergency Medals, National Medal Clasps. They also assisted the Romsey Group in recognising former Group Officer David Allen and former Deputy Group Officer Don Rodwell service to CFA and the wider community. 

Romsey Captain Nic Needham thanked the community for their support and acknowledged the hard work undertaken by former Captain Trevor Wilson.  Nic also acknowledge the substantial brigade contribution of $60,000 towards the project.
