New tanker for Talbot

Talbot Fire Brigade’s 1986 Hino 3.4 tanker has been upgraded, having served Talbot for 28 years, and had been decommissioned in November 2014.

The new 2.4C tanker is state of the art, coming fully equipped with modern appliances including a front mounted monitor which will be very useful in the case of a running grass fire.

Being a twin cab it will be more comfortable for crews when going on strike teams or attending local incidents. Members find the new tanker more user friendly than the old one. It’s a big step up from the 1986 Hino tanker.

Talbot brigade members have spent the last couple months training on and getting familiarised with the different workings of the Tanker. DMO Gary Drabsch from District 15 came across to run brigade members through the operation of the tanker.
