From Monday 9 to Sunday 15 May 2016, CFA is celebrating and proud to support National Volunteer Week – an annual event to acknowledge the generous contribution of our volunteers.
There are 11,673 CFA volunteers based in North West Region. CFA says thank you to each and every one of them for the commitment, dedication and professionalism shown in their hard work to protect lives and properties.
CFA is only one part of a volunteer’s life and we know that responding to fire calls, attending brigade meetings, going away on strike teams or practicing your skills can take members away from their family and work.
Members should be proud of the selfless commitment they make to local communities and the broader State of Victoria.
The overall wellbeing of CFA members is our number one priority. Everyone needs to come home safe, both physically and mentally.
The most important resource we have in CFA is our people, and for every member’s contribution, no matter how big or small – we thank them.
Quotes attributable to Assistant Chief Officer Gavin Thompson:
“I’ve spent time travelling North West Region and getting to know member’s stories, successes and challenges since becoming Assistant Chief Officer in January.
“There are many differences between the four Districts, but across all I have seen what a great job our members do.”
