Oscar the cat skip rescue

A stray cat that was rescued by CFA crews after getting its head stuck in a skip has landed on its feet in a new home.

The cat, named Oscar by its new carers, was discovered by workers from Nationwide Towing & Transport workshop in Dandenong at around 11am yesterday morning.

The CFA were quickly on scene and after a haircut and the aid of some olive oil spray 'Oscar' was freed and ended up finding a new home with Bianca Henderson.

Biance has posted a before and after photo on the CFA Facebook page (see below).

"Thank you CFA for rescuing the kitten who has now been named Oscar," she said. "He is now in my care. He has had multiple baths to remove the dirt and grime from his coat and is now looking much better."
