CFA would like to extend a huge thank you to Bunnings Warehouse for holding the 'Aussie Day Weekend Fundraiser BBQ’ on Saturday 24 January, and of course to our local communities for their support.
It seems like everyone grabbed a snag on the day with the event being the biggest fundraiser for the retailer, raising over $450k nationally for volunteer emergency services. In Victoria, over $111k was raised for CFA and SES of which approximately $52k will go to CFA brigades nominated to receive the funds.
Thanks also to CFA members from participating brigades who gave their time to make this event a success, by sharing community safety information, helping with the BBQ and getting into the Aussie Day spirit!
This was an opportunity to not only do some fundraising, but connect with our communities at what is usually a very busy and high-risk time for bushfires and grassfires.
Thanks to the Bunnings Warehouse team for their coordination of the events and to their staff, families and friends at the 50+ stores who gave up their time on the Australia Day weekend to support CFA and SES in Victoria.
