Recruiting now

CFA is on the lookout for fit, team-oriented and community-minded individuals to join its career firefighter ranks from mid-2016.

An online applications system on CFA’s website is set to open for a short time from Monday 16 November.

Candidates applying in this round will need to be ready to undergo beep and aptitude testing at the end of January next year.

CFA encourages women and men from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds to apply for the full-time career firefighter role, which involves protecting lives and property alongside our 55,000 volunteers.

Potential applicants will need to carefully read through the information on the careers section of CFA's website  to make sure they are eligible. Key requirements include having the right to work within Australia, holding a full, manual drivers’ licence, or permanent resident, and being prepared to relocate to any one of CFA’s integrated stations in Victoria.

While previous experience or qualifications in firefighting are not required, experience as a CFA volunteer is always well regarded.

For all applicants, a good level of overall fitness is essential and will be tested at various stages throughout the recruitment and training process.
