Rescue in Mt Buffalo

Earlier today (Monday, 2 January) CFA crews were called to a high angle rescue at Tourist Road in Mt Buffalo.

Crews were called to the scene just before 1pm and the incident was called under control by 5.30pm.

Six trucks from Bright, Mt Beauty, Porepunkah and Wangaratta assisted to rescue a 75 year old woman who had fallen three metre down a cliff and was stuck between two boulders.

Around 11 CFA rope rescue personnel from Wodonga, Wangaratta and Mt Beauty also assisted with the incident.

Emergency service agencies all worked together to free the trapped woman.

The woman incurred several broken bones, cuts and abrasions and has since been airlifted to hospital.

Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, SES, CFA, Parks Vic and Paramedics were all on the scene.
