In partnership with Taylor's Hill Men’s Shed and Rockbank Primary School, the Rockbank brigade received a CFA-themed library that would allow them to recruit desperately needed new members from their community.

“The street library has been a fantastic community project for the brigade seeing a school and men’s shed all working together to support Rockbank,” Operations Officer Shane Bailey said.

“The brigade will now be able to put their recruitment flyers in the covers of books for when residents take them. They can also provide much-needed fire safety information which will help throughout summer when grassfire danger is at its highest.”

Rockbank brigade members were extremely grateful to Dennis Miles and John Owen who represented Taylor’s Hill Men’s Shed for their support with this initiative.

A second street library was built and gifted to Toolern Vale Fire Brigade for the same purpose. Both are expected to be erected at the front of the fire stations in the very near future.
