RUOK? Day recap

During the month of September, CFA’s Organisational Wellbeing team coordinated events across the state in support of RUOK? Day.

Each event incorporated an RUOK? Day quiz and provided members with an opportunity to get together to learn more about mental health and wellbeing and the support services available to CFA members.

“…after the initial awkward comments, the guys did listen and did accept that mental health is a real thing.  One of the quiz cards is remaining on the notice board to remind people that it is OK to ask people how they are…AND the resources are in the meeting room to be brought up at the next formal meeting as a thing to be aware of…” Maria Harkins, Firefighter, Hazelwood North Brigade

“[The event] provided some good resources and pathways that are available, all in all a very worthwhile day.” Mick Sporton, Senior Station Officer, Mildura Fire Station

“We had the morning tea today and it was very successful…, there was plenty of food and we all did the quiz and got prizes. I really feel it achieved what it set out to do as a couple of people did not know much about the MAP [Member Assistance Program] and have taken contact cards.” Carolyn Blake, Structural Fire Safety Coordinator, F&EM

And finally a number of photos were taken across the state, including one of Sir Alfington the South West R U OK? Mascot.  Check them out below.
