CFA crews are responding to a fire at a saw mill in Hazelwood North.
CFA District 10 Operations Officer Peter Lockwood said crews were called to the fire at around 12.15pm.
He said the fire was contained to one building of approximately 15x15 metres.
An Advice message has been issued advising communities smoke will be visible in the area.
Mr Lockwood said mill staff had been evacuated and production has been stopped.
The fire was brought under control around 1.40pm. Police and ambulance crews are also on scene.
CFA crews from Churchill, Hazelwood North, Moe, Moe South, Morwell, Newborough, and Traralgon are attending and are expected to stay on scene for the afternoon.
