Sedgwick Juniors do it again

Sedgwick Fire Brigade is lucky to have such talented Juniors. For three years in a row they have won the District 2 Rural Junior Championship in the 11-13-year-old category.

The District 2 Championships were held in Maryborough on 20 March and it was a successful day for all the Sedgwick Junior teams. The 11-13 team won its section with a score of 52 points, ahead of Mandurang on 44 and Stuart Mill on 36.

This year the Sedgwick 11-15 teams were defeated by the very talented team from Stuart Mill, which finished with a score of 54. Sedgwick B came second with 36 points and Sedgwick A was third with 32 points.

Sedgwick Juniors have 10 very dedicated members who enjoy competing as well as regular brigade activities. The brigade is proud to have four senior members who were Juniors last year. Some have just completed, and others are just starting, their minimum skills and will be valued members of the brigade for years to come.

The Sedgwick 11-15 team is the reigning State Champs and are looking forward to competing at the State Championships in Colac on 2 April. Team members know they have some pretty tough competition this year.

We wish them all the best for a successful campaign!
