Snake Valley home destroyed by fire

Fire investigators are at a property in Snake Valley, after it was destroyed by fire last night (25 May).

Firefighters were alerted to the incident around 7.45pm and they found the home fully alight when they arrived. 

District 16 Rostered Duty Officer Neville Collins said the occupants - a middle-aged couple - were out for dinner when the fire started.

"Crews were working tirelessly to get the fire under control when the couple arrived home," Mr Collins said.

"They were in shock when they saw the property had collapsed to the ground."

Ambulance Victoria paramedics attended to care for the couple. Police were also on scene.
