Teenagers found after all night search

Exhausted CFA volunteers were resting up Sunday after an all-night search found three missing teenagers in the Yarra Ranges National Park.

The 14-year-old boys became separated from a camping trip on Saturday sparking a huge search. Sixty CFA members alongside a number of other emergency services scoured the dense bushland throughout the night until the teenagers were found about 9am on Sunday morning.

Searchers started with a 12 sq km area of state forest about 9pm on Saturday. By Sunday morning they had narrowed the search area before the teenagers were found by CFA members.

District 13 Operations Officer Jamie Hansen said the response by CFA members demonstrated their commitment to community safety.

"They responded quickly and were rewarded for their efforts when the young men were found," he said.

"Our members worked extremely hard under trying conditions, hampered by the bush and darkness. All of them along with all the other searchers deserve a vote of thanks and gratitude."
