Original story:

Three people have been injured and a houseboat has been destroyed by fire at Eildon this morning.

District 12 Operations Manager Rob Van Dorsser said firefighters were called to the harbour at 10.30am.

“One boat has been totally destroyed and another boat has been damaged by radiant heat,” he said.

“The burning boat has been dragged out into the lake away from all other boats.”

It’s believed two children and an adult received superficial injuries. They have been conveyed to the boat club and are in the care of Ambulance Victoria.

A specialist marine unit and CFA Eildon tanker attended the incident.

The cause is unknown at this stage, but will be investigated.
