Tooborac fire burns into forest

A 60-hectare grass and scrub fire has burnt into forest near Toobarac, west of Seymour in Victoria's North East.

The fire started in Hardings Lane at around 1.45 this afternoon and spread through grassland, entering the Spring Plains Nature Conservation Reserve shortly after 3pm.  

Five aircraft helped to tackly the blaze, including both fixed wing planes and water bombing helicopters. They supported more than 150 CFA and DELWP firefighters crewing 37 tankers, slip-ons and forward command vehicles. Three strike teams were also deployed.

Two Traffic Management Points were set up to block off Hardings Lane, at the Northern Highway and Dairy Flat Rd intersections.
