Total Fire Ban for Mallee and Wimmera

A Total Fire Ban (TFB) has been declared for the Mallee and Wimmera regions tomorrow (Wednesday 13 December).

Total

Tomorrow's conditions in the Mallee and Wimmera will be hot with temperatures reaching the high 30’s and low 40’s in the North West of the State.

State Duty Officer Jamie Hansen said the declaration of a TFB should act as a timely reminder that the fire season is upon us, and that people should be prepared.

“Tomorrow’s hot and windy conditions will make it difficult for firefighters to supress a fire should one start, therefore we are asking people to take heed of the Total Fire Ban conditions,” Mr Hansen said.

“People need to be aware of the increased fire danger and ensure theirr fire plan covers all possible contingencies.”

TFBs mean no fire can be lit in the open air or allowed to remain alight from 12.01am to 11.59pm on the day of the Total Fire Ban.
