Total Fire Ban in the Mallee

A Total Fire Ban is in place for tomorrow, Friday 28 December in the Mallee where there is Severe fire danger forecast.

A very dry and warm day is forecast tomorrow in the north west with temperatures expected to be between 41 and 44 degrees. Temperatures are expected to remain overnight, with between 22-25 degrees forecast on Thursday into Friday.

Friday will be the third consecutive day of temperatures over 40 degrees in Mildura.

Heat health alerts have been issued for the Wimmera, Mallee, North Central, North East and Northern Country. Heat Advice messages are in place for these areas. 

A Total Fire Ban means no fires can be lit or be allowed to remain alight in the open air from 12.01am tomorrow on Friday, until 11.59pm.

This includes the use of campfires, open flame barbecues, including Weber style barbecues and solid fuel camp ovens.
