Volunteers learn new skills

It was a busy Sunday for District 14, particularly for the Whittlesea Diamond Valley Group.

Volunteers

Brigades from across the district joined forces to take part in three training activities.

The Advanced Pumping Practical Assessment was held at Ivanhoe Grammar School in Doreen, where participants demonstrated the theory they had been taught in the preceding weeks.

Breathing apparatus skills acquisition training took place at Whittlesea Fire Station in preparation for the practical assessment in July, while in South Morang other members practised their Drive on Roads Endorsement and a few select members were continuing their training as driver educators.

All the participants have devoted a great amount of personal time to become proficient in the skills they have been training for, and we shouldn't forget the significant effort made by the trainers, assessors and mentors.

It is very pleasing to see people from all walks of life putting back into their communities to support CFA.
