Update from Executive Director of Volunteers and Strategy, John Haynes

I’d like to introduce the Service Delivery Reporting Centre (SDRC), formally known as the Fire and Incident Reporting System (FIRS) Call Centre.

Update

Executive Director of Volunteers and Strategy, John Haynes

The SDRC will continue to support brigades to capture data relating to fire and incident response. Services are being extended to capture data relating to frontline programs and services such as school visits and community awareness sessions.

By improving the way data is captured at CFA, we can better understand activities related to community education and engagement.

Along with our response data, we can build an informative picture of the programs and services CFA deliver to prevent, prepare and respond to fire and other incidents. Better data and information leads to improved decisions on what programs and services are delivered and how they are delivered, ensuring that the risk to the Victorian community is managed.

It is important to note that for staff and volunteers, nothing changes in terms of reporting on response to an incident. Our phone numbers, reporting system, and support services remains the same.

This direction supports CFA to be a modern emergency services organisation.
