VFBV State Urban Championships - Bendigo 2015

Bendigo is in readiness to host the 132nd annual VFBV State Urban Fire Championships on the weekend of 7th, 8th &  9th March 2015.

This will be the 29th occasion Bendigo has hosted this event and indications are that this will be a very entertaining and interesting competition.

Teams from Western Australia have indicated that they will be sending strong teams across the Nullabor to take the top prize this year.

Local team Kangaroo Flat will be going for three titles in a row and are training and working hard to achieve this, other local teams Eaglehawk and Bendigo have show glimpses of early form to be considered a good chance overall.

Kangaroo Flat’s Jackson Dargaville is looking good to make it five in a row in the prestigious Ladder Race at this year’s event.

The ever popular CFA Corporate Marquee’s will be on display with plenty of merchandise available along with fire safety material.

There is plenty to interest both children and adults.

Competition will start immediately after the opening ceremony and Discipline contest which is scheduled for a 9am start on Saturday 7th March, competition will continue over the three days of the long weekend at Weeroona oval.

A Traditional torchlight Parade will be conducted through the streets of Bendigo on Saturday 7th March commencing at 8.30pm.

The Parade will start in McClaren St and continue into Munday,Mollison,Williamson Streets Lyttleton Tce and finish in Hopetoun Street.

Admission will be free all weekend.
