Visit us at Ritchies this weekend

Last weekend some of our brigades including Diamond Creek brigade were at the local Ritchies handing out fire safety information and Ritchies Community Benefit Cards to the community.

Since the Community Benefit Card program began in the area, Diamond Creek brigade has received more than $114,000 from the program.

Captain David Murphy said the Ritchies’ Community Benefit Card program has been a consistent source of financial support to the Diamond Creek brigade for many years.

“Each month, through the generosity of both Ritchies and the Diamond Creek community, Diamond Creek CFA receives funds, which allow us to purchase essential firefighting equipment. In recent years, the brigade has put these funds towards the purchase of: a thermal imaging camera; lighting equipment; a quick-cut saw; Protek hose branches; and a rabbit tool (used in entrapment situations). Equipment such as this enables the brigade to provide comprehensive assistance to the community in times of emergency.”

“While our brigade is served 100 per cent by volunteers, our equipment, training and response capacity ensure we are as professional as any career fire service and this is in no small part thanks to the generosity of Ritchies and the Diamond Creek community.”

This weekend brigades such as Churchill, Cobram, Hastings, Cranbourne, Sorrento, Timboon and Frankston will be out in force at their Ritchies handing out fire safety information and cooking up snags. So come along and support your local brigade.
