WATCH: Online firefighter recruit session for vols

CFA volunteers are invited to tune in to a live stream session (online presentation) next Wednesday 13 May to learn more about the recruitment process to become a career firefighter.

The hour-long information session will be broadcast online from 6pm and volunteers anywhere in the state can watch it by clicking here.

Martin Penrose from CFA Career Firefighter Recruitment said the live stream would allow members to ask questions in real-time and get more information – all from the comfort of their home.

“This is a great opportunity for our volunteers who have been thinking about applying to learn a little more about the role and the recruitment process,” Mr Penrose said.

“We held a number of career information session last year which proved quite popular so we thought we would offer the same via the internet for those who are unable to travel to a session this year,” he said.

The session will include a presentation from a former volunteer who is now a career firefighter. Those tuning in will also be able to learn about the training and preparation techniques, and hear about the advantages of being a volunteer firefighter in the system.

Members can send in their questions early, or during the session, by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by SMS 0457 999 333.

If you’re busy or miss the live stream, a video will be posted online afterwards so volunteers can watch it at any time.
