Werribee Fire Brigade’s road crash rescue team has taken third place in this year’s NSW State Road Crash Rescue Challenge.
Competing against a field of 20 rescue teams, the team of six won the Entrapped Rescue and Industrial and Domestic Rescue challenges to place third overall.
Held over the weekend of 24-26 May at Dubbo Showground, the annual NSW State Road Crash Rescue Challenge tests participants’ teamwork, efficiency and technique across seven different rescue scenarios.
The event attracts teams from across emergency services in NSW including NSWSES, VRA Rescue NSW and Fire and Rescue NSW, with the Werribee rescue team the only Victorian team competing this year.
This is the fourth year Werribee has competed at the event.
The event includes a day of workshops to provide attendees with practical knowledge and learning opportunities.
