A woman who was rescued from a cave has contacted CFA to thank rescuers for their "kindness and support".

Kim Van Dyk was rescued when a group of CFA members driving home from a training course were flagged down by a person alerting them of Kim's fall.

“Thank you to everyone who assisted in getting me out of Dicksons B cave at Murrindal,” she said. “I appreciate the kindness and support given to me by all the rescuers.

“The breaks in my leg are slowly healing and I am feeling a lot better. Thank you again.“

The eight-hour rescue was a joint effort with Buchan, Lakes Entrance, Morwell, Traralgon and Dandenong brigades joining other members from Districts 10 and 11.
