The Woorinen Football Netball Club house has been destroyed by fire early this morning (Friday 31 July).
CFA District 18 Operations Officer John Breaks said CFA crews arrived shortly before 2am to find the building engulfed by flames.
“Unfortunately when our members arrived there was nothing left to be salvaged,” he said.
“Crews worked for close to an hour to bring the fire under control. Another hour was spent blacking out.
“The building contained the club’s change rooms, bar, kitchen, office - everything. It’s a real blow for the community.”
Eight crews attended from nearby Swan Hill, Nyah Nyah, Beverford, Lake Boga and Woorinen South.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
