Join more than 1,000 people from 100 community and cultural groups as they march in the 2020 Australia Day Parade in Melbourne.

Expressions of interest are now open for CFA and Coastguard volunteers to participate in Melbourne’s annual Australia Day Parade on Sunday, 26 January 2020.
CFA participates in the parade each year alongside volunteer members from other Victorian emergency services and community and cultural groups.
Parade details
Participants will walk approximately two and a half kilometres from the corner of Bourke and Swanston Street, past the Melbourne Town Hall, Federation Square, over the Yarra River, and onto St Kilda Rd.
The march will start at approximately 11am after a flag raising ceremony at Melbourne Town Hall which begins at 10.30am.
The parade will finish by 12.30pm. Participants will be required to wear clean wildfire PPE for the duration of the parade.

Successful applicants will be members who demonstrate CFA values, and have made a valuable contribution to the community.
Expressions of interest close at midnight 5 January 2020. The final selection of participants will be at the discretion of local OMs/ACOs.

Travel/accommodation
There's a small budget available to provide some accommodation the night before (Saturday 25 January) for successful participants who are travelling from regional parts of the state. This is only for participants who live more than 250km from CFA Headquarters at Burwood East.
Bus transport has been arranged to and from the event from CFA Headquarters, although participants can meet up with the CFA group at the pre-arranged meeting point in the city.
Participants will be encouraged to utilise CFA brigade, group or district vehicles for transport to and from the event.
Successful applicants
The Volunteer Sustainability Team will contact successful/unsuccessful applicants during the week commencing Monday, 13 January 2020. Successful applicants will be provided with further information about arrangements for the event.
