On Saturday 16 March 2024, Beaconsfield Fire Brigade members were invited to participate in the Holi Festival of Colours event at Akoonah Park in Berwick.

Holi is a popular and significant Hindu festival celebrated by members of the Indian community, with members of the Indian and broader community attending and enjoying music and the throwing of colours.

Beaconsfield Fire Brigade members talked to community members about the brigade and showed children the pumper tanker which was on display.

A highlight of the event was brigade members being invited onto the stage to throw colours as part of the festivities. It was great to see some of our newer brigade members taking part and recognising that community engagement is an important part of our role as a brigade.

Thank you to the festival organisers ISKCON Temple and the Lions Club of Casey for the invitation.
