CFA attending Knoxfield hazmat

Four people have been treated by ambulance and taken to hospital following a hazardous materials incident in Knoxfield today.

CFA was called to the incident at 12.10pm where drums of unknown chemicals at a Stud Road floor product factory had leaked across 12 pallets of floating floorboards.

It is believed four employees became overcome by fumes and suffered some breathing difficulties.

Operations Officer Tim Holland said CFA was called to clean-up the spill and said the Hallam hazmat crew is on scene and would work to determine the type of chemicals in the drums.

Six trucks from Hallam, Rowville and Scoresby remain on scene.
