The crew were sent on a mission to the Natchez Fire that is situated on the border of Oregon and Northern California. This fire is located just south of two large fires burning in the state at Klondike and Taylors Creek.

HUH1 'Huey' the helicopter is an ex-military aircraft, with an 100ft line bucket that can carry 1200 litres.

CFA SSO Adrian Devenish said the terrain has been very challenging.

“The fires are located in some very difficult-to-access, hilly and rocky areas making the use of aircraft vital in battling fires that are some of the biggest the crews here have seen,” Adrian said.
