CFA’s Junior volunteers have been training hard to prepare for the Urban Championships which will see 73 teams compete including two teams from Western Australia.

The Champs are an opportunity for Junior CFA volunteers to demonstrate a range of their firefighting skills.

CFA Chief Officer Steve Warrington said the Champs were an excellent opportunity for them to interact with other Junior members from across the state.

“For CFA Juniors, this is a unique chance to meet other juniors from the 73 different teams and 44 brigades represented,” he said.

“These Champs promote the core CFA values of teamwork, health, wellbeing and service. They also offer a unique simulation of the practical tasks all firefighters must perform. These Champs are incredibly important to CFA's culture and camaraderie.”

The Urban Junior Championships are open to Junior urban brigade members aged from 11 to 17. All events are based on practical firefighting activities.
