Cultural training in Islam

District 13 is promoting a fantastic opportunity for CFA members to participate in cultural awareness training in Understanding People from Islamic Backgrounds.

The Migrant Information Centre is facilitating a cultural briefing session for people wanting to know more about Islam as part of MIC’s Supporting CALD Communities project.

The session will include information about local demographics, customs and beliefs, attitudes towards caring, perceptions about carers and caring, information about death and dying, barriers in accessing care services, as well as tips for working effectively with people from Islamic backgrounds.

The session will be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday 15 October 2014 at Function room 3, Manningham City Council, 699 Doncaster Road, Doncaster.
