Defibrillator donated to Millbrook Fire Brigade

Thanks to a generous donation from the Ballan Ambulance Auxiliary, Millbrook Fire Brigade has taken possession of an AED Defibrillator on behalf of the Millbrook community.

Ballan Ambulance Station Officer Dylan Birthisel met with Millbrook Fire Brigade members, Tom and Yova Reynolds, and Chairman of the Ballan Ambulance Auxiliary Ian Ireland, to officially hand over the AED last month.

The AED will be housed in an alarmed enclosure outside Millbrook Fire Station. The AED location will be registered on the GoodSAM app.  This app is available to qualified paramedics, nurses and emergency medical responders who receive an alert for incidents in their area when they are off duty. The app will provide the responder with the location of the defibrillator.

The fire station is conveniently located next to Millbrook Community Hall (formerly the Millbrook Primary School).

The Millbrook community doesn't have a general store, church, hotel or other venue where people can gather, so the community hall provides a comfortable, safe central point for their many community activities which include weekly mothers and children group meetings, and CFA brigade meetings. This means the fire station is the best place to locate the AED.
