Tony attended the track and field events held in Croydon on Saturday 30 March 2019 to compete in five events.

In cold and wet conditions he participated in the 100, 200 and 400-metre running events, winning a gold medal in all three races.

Great results were also achieved by Tony winning silver medals in both the Men’s 50-54 Age Group Long Jump and High Jump Events. Tony said the day was good fun and his preparation has already begun for next year.

As a keen runner, Tony also participates in various athletic competitions throughout the state having recently won medals in a number of events at the Victorian Masters and making the final in the 200 metre run at the Australian Masters.

Tony was one of many members from District 2 who attended the games in 2019. Other brigade members also returned as winners.

Huntly Fire Brigade Member Leigh Climas was also among the medalists getting a Bronze in the A Grade Shooting Event.

After a busy day shooting Leigh was honoured to place equal third in the event alongside his previous mentor Shane Bacon from Corrections Victoria.

Another winner from District 2 was Bianca Franklin from Castlemaine Fire Brigade who won medals in the equestrian event with her horse Thomas.

Bianca and Thomas rode to podium finishes in three events coming home with a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal.

Congratulations to all those members who attended the games and a great effort to those who managed to come home with a medal in their chosen event.
