Firefighters helped to save a dog stuck in a ground pipe in Winchelsea today.
At about 9.50am Winchelsea Fire Brigade was called to help free a fox terrier that chased a rabbit into a culvert and became stuck.
Captain Rod Taylor said the culvert was full of soft mud.
“The rabbit went out the other side and the dog didn’t,” he said.
With the help of SES the dog was pulled to safety after being stuck for about 40 minutes. The dog was uninjured.
Captain Taylor said the dog was as relieved as much as the owner was.
“Needless to say the rabbit got away,” he said.
