Dryer fire danger

Terrifying images of a flaming dryer have reinforced CFA’s message for all homes to be fitted with working smoke alarms.

Dryer

The NSW family were woken by a working smoke alarm

The owners of this clothes dryer were sleeping when it caught fire.

Luckily, working smoke alarms alerted them to the fire, and they managed to drag the dryer outside before it spread.

It’s a timely reminder to check and empty your lint filters before every drying cycle and never leave your dryer on when asleep or when leaving the house.

And always let your dryer complete it’s cool down cycle.
